Since 1944 when Morris Byers purchased Berland Blue Line Transport Company and changed the name to Byers Transport Limited we have continued to grow and expand our company and services. This is a testament to our dedication and will to succeed. Our history is rich in accomplishments and meeting the changing economies successfully.

In 1969 Pacific Western Airlines purchased Byers and in 1971 introduced a new logo. This logo continued through the employee purchase in 1974 from PWA. Ongoing expansion and growth resulted in Byers building a new state of the art head office and terminal facility in 1979. |

In 1981 our logo changed again when Byers was purchased by Grey Goose Corporation, part of the Laidlaw Transportation Limited empire. Byers continued to grow and expand with a loyal customer base and dedicated employees. In 1987 our head office and terminal in Edmonton was completely destroyed by a tornado. Byers prevailed, rebuilt, and further expanded our service areas. |

Once again Byers, a solid well respected company, was sought and purchased by the Assman family in 1990. The combination of Northern Interior Fastfrate and Byers Transport was a perfect geographic fit and Byers quickly grew and expanded at a phenomenal rate. |

In 2000, the Assman family created the Landtran Group of Companies, capitalizing on emerging opportunities in Western Canada. Byers Transport continued to be the flag ship company of the Landtran group and for the next 6 years continued to grow and expand. |

In 2006, TransForce Income Trust Fund purchased Byers Transport, recognizing it as a well managed company with great potential. With the confidence of our customers and employees we look forward to an exciting and prosperous future. Welcome the new generation of Byers Transport. |
